Marcia Harvey is an African-American authorwho is more well-known for being the ex-wife of comedy legend and TV host, Steve Harvey. Deciding largely to stay away from the attention of the media, she has a very private life. Steve has never had the same level of success as he has now, but they were married for 14 years ago. The exact reasons for the couple's split were never known and there have been rumors of it being heard throughout Hollywood. Many believe that it was due to Steve Harvey's cheating and others believe it was due on his decision to pursue comedy as a profession. Steve Harvey dispersed her from his two daughters when she was pregnant with their third baby, causing her to feel devastated. In spite of all the difficulties, she has made it a success in the field of fashion and writing. Marcia Harvey was born to an African-American family. They didn't have the richest of families. She started her career at Saks Fifth Avenue, a department store. Steve was introduced to her at a friend's wedding reception. They became lovers and were married in the year 1980. The couple was blessed with twin girls in 1982, while Steve worked as an insurance salesman. Steve started to feel depressed at work and began to consider a career in entertainment. He wanted to become a stand-up comic. He and Marcia did not get along and reports later suggested that they'd lived apart since the year 1990. The majority of the fame of Marcia Harvey was due to her marriage and divorce to Steve Harvey. While the circumstances that led to their divorce in 1994 are largely kept under wraps however, it is clear that Marcia was pregnant with their third child, when everything went downhill. Marcia eventually filed for divorce in 1993. Marcia was compelled by Steve Harvey's insistence on not paying the child support or alimony following her divorce.
